«Pierrot le Fou» is French cinema’s most crazy landmark. Godard’s two iconic stars, Jean-Paul Belmondo and Anna Karina, play the adulterous couple who turn their back on bourgeois Parisian society and hit the road, heading ever southward. Watch or rewatch it with English subtitles on October 17th during our special screening preceded by a New Wave Movie Tour with Ciné-Balade, drinks and an exhibition of «Pierrot le Fou» alternative posters in Luminor Hôtel de Ville salon thanks to Plakat!

🎥THE MOVIE:

Ferdinand (Jean-Paul Belmondo), unhappily married and recently fired from his job, abandons his family and runs off to the Riviera with the enigmatic Marianne (Anna Karina). Ferdinand, whom Marianne calls “Pierrot,” tries to find artistic fulfillment between bouts of criminal adventure, but keeps getting entangled in Marianne’s violent life. – Plot

☆OPTIONAL NEW WAVE MOVIE TOUR☆

Lost in Frenchlation and Ciné-Balade have teamed up to bring you a two hour walk into the history of the French New Wave cinema movement. The Quartier Latin is a highly cinephile district. Known for its arthouse cinemas, it naturally attracted the young movie critics becoming directors from the New Wave. Jean-Luc Godard was particularly linked to this area. From the Luxembourg garden where he shot one of his first short movies, « Tous les garçons s’appellent Patrick », to the Seine banks where we find back Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg in “A Bout de Souffle”, passing through la Sorbonne and some movie theaters, the tour will allow us to talk about the beginning of its cinema, the directors he knew but also about the youth of the time. Photos and videos on an Ipad. The walk starts at 5pm and lasts for approximately 2h. ☞ LIMITED TICKETS: https://www.weezevent.com/lost-in-frenchlation-x-cine-balade-present-new-wave-cinema-tour

Looking forward to seeing you there!
