Lindsey Tramuta meets Lauren Collins • Le Mois Particulier

November 28, 2016 @ 19:00 - 20:30

We wanted to host a talk in English during Le Mois Particulier, and the best person to lead it is a journalist we sincerely appreciate, Lindsey Tramuta.

Join acclaimed writer and author Lindsey Tramuta (“The New Paris”) for a live Q&A with Lauren Collins, as they discuss the book and all the ups and downs of expat life, on Monday 28th, 7-8:30 pm.

Lauren Collins :
While she is known for reporting on subjects ranging from Michelle Obama to the political undertones at the Salon de l’Agriculture in Paris, New Yorker writer and author Lauren Collins turned her attention to a much more personal story for her first book “When in French” —her own journey from North Carolina, to London (where she met her French husband Olivier) and to Geneva, where they lived for several years before arriving in Paris.

She explores identity formation across cultures with an abiding focus on language (and even linguistic theory) — the ways in which it shapes us, why it matters, and how learning a new one can be both a source of tremendous accomplishment and crippling self-doubt.

From 6pm : cocktails in the gardens by a warm firecamp, in the main or downstairs, in Le Très Particulier.
